Eep!…Hair Product Buildup?

Here’s a nifty little number to rinse through your hair, around once a fortnight, to get rid of any styling product buildup that refuses to take leave in the face of regular washing:
Rinse your hair with half a cup of Bicarbonate of Soda (baking soda) mixed into a cup of warm water.
Ta da! Now you can relax because it’s as easy as that.
Wonderfully Wacky-Do and Hair Free Too!

I received an email the other day that made me giggle a bit, absolutely smile an even bigger bit, and ever so pleased to be a bit “Out There”. Here’s an excerpt from the most excellent email below:
Hello Beauty Marked!,
“I have to say that your rather well informed, albeit unorthodox approach to beauty is really refreshing and always a great read. I wasn’t too sure I’d get into the daily beauty affirmations or enjoy the beautiful quotations you have posted as much as I have. They are just so different. But I think the thing I am most pleased about is your inspirational quips that you liberally share. I also love that you are so wonderfully wacky-do, but in the coolest, most well groomed way…”
i just had to share this gem of an email and weigh in to say how much I so appreciate and embrace my card carrying Groomed Wacky-Do status and that I couldn’t ever consider passing up an opportunity to spritz on a fine fragrance, slick on a gorgeously-rich red lippie, have a mani, pedi, blow-dry, brow shape, wax, facial, to meditate, re-align my chakras, have a massage, or to commune with a magnificent crystal. No way José! But the best bit about this email is that you lovelies obviously know it too. I love that! Thanks for noticing and an even bigger thanks for being you!

How Nifty Is This?

When your running late and have an annoying case of flakeys on your face and haven’t got time for a zippy mechanical exfoliation or did one and missed a few rogue terrors, just grab your tweezers to sort out the rest. Seriously, it’s as easy as tweezing off the offending bits of skin with stealth precision, moisturizing, and away you go. I know…too cool!
The Perfect Accessory!

“I have never seen a sincerely smiling face that was not simply beautiful.”

Beauty Out Equals Beauty In:

Most of us are familiar with the Law of Attraction as it is capably explored and explained in Rhonda Byrne’s’ “The Secret”, but I’d like to lovingly remind you that the very same principles apply to beauty…our beauty. When we are continually thinking negative thoughts about ourselves like, I’m so ugly, I wish I were attractive, I hate my skin, I wish I didn’t have such a funny looking nose etc., Gosh, if I could only loose some weight then I’d look nicer, I’ll never find love, and so on, these negative thoughts are making their way Out There, and as dictated by the Law of Attraction (like attracts like) we expertly attract the very same back into our lives and we tend to get tons more of what’s in direct alignment with our thoughts. In other words, we get more of whom or what we don’t want. G-r-e-a-t-t-t-t!
So the important thing to remember is (seeing that the Universe is not as discerning as we’d like it to be) that we can totally utilize the Law of Attraction to our favour. By regularly and actively affirming what (and whom) we wish to attract into our lives, focusing on the positive and sending only beautiful, loving and supportive thoughts out about ourselves and the Universe will, absolutely, ensure that we abundantly get exactly that back. Not bad, ay? After all, as we like to say here at Chez Beauty Marked!, Beauty Out Equals Beauty In, because beautiful thoughts always lead to beautiful outcomes. And yes…that’s, definitely, a Beauty Marked! promise!

Dear Beauty Marked!
Thanks for all the time and expert work you put into this blog. I am continually amazed with how each and every day you manage to post something so cool and very inspirational. I love it!
I wanted to know what you thought of acrylic nails and whether or not they are a bit old fashioned. I particularly like the french acrylics.
You are very welcome Gorgeous One, as it’s my complete pleasure!
You know, I must say, I don’t half mind acrylic nails to be honest. Mid length to just longer than short and naturally squared in shape look adorable, especially when they are immaculately maintained. In fact, when they are sculpted in the way just mentioned, acrylics can look very natural and their faux status is darn near imperceptible. I don’t think the longer more talon like acrylics are particularly on trend, but if that’s what makes one feel beautiful then Go For It! I say. As for a good ole french manicure, well, who can pass up this bit of classic loveliness, now really? Shortish and natural would be the operative words when it comes to acrylics. Do though be sure that you are going to a nail salon that is not only reputable, but observes the imperative and highly stringent hygiene regulations if you do decide to go the faux.
Again, it’s always a pleasure to receive and answer cherished reader emails, so please feel free to keep them coming.
