Wonderfully Wacky-Do and Hair Free Too!

hippy_faery_colour.jpg

I received an email the other day that made me giggle a bit, absolutely smile an even bigger bit, and ever so pleased to be a bit “Out There”. Here’s an excerpt from the most excellent email below:

Hello Beauty Marked!,

“I have to say that your rather well informed, albeit unorthodox approach to beauty is really refreshing and always a great read. I wasn’t too sure I’d get into the daily beauty affirmations or enjoy the beautiful quotations you have posted as much as I have. They are just so different. But I think the thing I am most pleased about is your inspirational quips that you liberally share. I also love that you are so wonderfully wacky-do, but in the coolest, most well groomed way…”

i just had to share this gem of an email and weigh in to say how much I so appreciate and embrace my card carrying Groomed Wacky-Do status and that I couldn’t ever consider passing up an opportunity to spritz on a fine fragrance, slick on a gorgeously-rich red lippie, have a mani, pedi, blow-dry, brow shape, wax, facial, to meditate, re-align my chakras, have a massage, or to commune with a magnificent crystal. No way José! But the best bit about this email is that you lovelies obviously know it too. I love that! Thanks for noticing and an even bigger thanks for being you!

Some Fabulously Fun Facts About Our Hair!

Did you know:

So amazing!

Eggscellent!

-No, I’m not from New Zealand. But I did want to let you know that a couple of eggs used on your tresses can dramatically and most excellently boost the condition of your hair. What’s better is that all you need to do is use the yolks as a hair mask after shampoo and conditioner to add mega condition to dry hair. Egg whites used as a hair mask is a primo degreaser and smoothes oily hair fabulously. The hardest or rather fiddliest bit about using raw eggs is the separating of the yolk from the white to suit your particular hair concern. Leave the egg masks to sit on your hair for an hour or so, longer if you can, and rinse clean before styling. No need to point out that you’d be rinsing the egg mask out with tepid water right? But then again, I can’t say I’ve ever tried omelet as a styling product. Who knows? There might just be something to it.

You’ll Be Sweet!

I have just learned how to make the “sweetest” hair spray at home. What’s even better about this “good enough to eat” hair spray is it’s a 2 ingredient wonder that will provide you with a gentle hold. All you need to make this beauty is a spray bottle, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 4 tablespoons of hot water. Dissolve the sugar in the hot water, transfer to spray bottle, shake well and spritz on as desired. Too easy!

NB. I can vouch for this gorgeous little homemade hairspray’s effectiveness. However, I can’t say with 100% certainty that the ants won’t adore this hairspray as much, if not more than you. Eek! Only kidding!

Post Waxing Wonder.

Here’s a quick and super effective little essential oil number to apply to your skin after waxing which not only soothes your skin, but act as a natural antiseptic too. Just mix the following bits of gorgeousness in an amber or similarly dark coloured bottle, cap, and gently shake. Be sure to store in a dark, cool place, out of reach of children. Not a bad drop this one. Enjoy!

SO What?!

Beauty Marked! absolutely loves an environmentally aware product, but what we love even more is an environmentally aware product that works. Did you know that Australia’s Salon Only (SO) hair care range absolutely fits this bill? SO hair care products have had a makeover with an environmental focus and repackaged its extensive range created from the expertise of no less than 3 generations of hairdressers! Most would be familiar with SO from its debut in the late 90’s and from its use in any of the 33 SO dedicated preferred product salons across Australia from soon after its inception. Now though, the range has certainly grown and is available currently from over 700 salons nation-wide with its new-look packaging!

So what we love about SO, besides their considerate product range, is the new innovative design changes made to the packaging and the super cool refill system that allows you to rock up to mostly any of 700 SO stockist and refill your empty and fully recyclable SO product bottle and receive an ever so handy $5 AUD off the refill price! Not bad, huh? Nice on your purse and great for the environment. We love that!

To find your nearest stockist, contact SO on 1300 660 680 (within Australia) or visit www.salononly.com.au for so much more.
