Dear Beauty Marked!
Thanks for all the time and expert work you put into this blog. I am continually amazed with how each and every day you manage to post something so cool and very inspirational. I love it!
I wanted to know what you thought of acrylic nails and whether or not they are a bit old fashioned. I particularly like the french acrylics.
You are very welcome Gorgeous One, as it’s my complete pleasure!
You know, I must say, I don’t half mind acrylic nails to be honest. Mid length to just longer than short and naturally squared in shape look adorable, especially when they are immaculately maintained. In fact, when they are sculpted in the way just mentioned, acrylics can look very natural and their faux status is darn near imperceptible. I don’t think the longer more talon like acrylics are particularly on trend, but if that’s what makes one feel beautiful then Go For It! I say. As for a good ole french manicure, well, who can pass up this bit of classic loveliness, now really? Shortish and natural would be the operative words when it comes to acrylics. Do though be sure that you are going to a nail salon that is not only reputable, but observes the imperative and highly stringent hygiene regulations if you do decide to go the faux.
Again, it’s always a pleasure to receive and answer cherished reader emails, so please feel free to keep them coming.

Eternally Dashing.
My senisibilities are not generally aligned with designer stubble, but somehow I think Pierce might have a little something to do with my most recent mind shift. How heavenly is he really? L’Oréal Paris is beyond chuffed, I would well imagine, to welcome Pierce Brosnan as the new ambassador for the L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Line. The L’Oréal Paris Men Expert skincare line has been around for a little while now and enjoying the well deserved success of their men’s skincare range, but I strongly suspect they can look forward to a whole lot more with their new handsome and ever-so-dashing spokesman in the midst.
Youcef Nabi, International General Manager of L’Oréal Paris says, “With his unanimously renowned talent and exceptional charisma, Pierce Brosnan seemed an emblematic spokesperson for the L’Oréal Men Expert line. The brilliant, esteemed career of this daring actor is one worthy of much admiration. His self-assurance, allure, and ‘understated’ virility make him an ideal spokesperson for our Men Expert skin care range. Starring as the legendary character James Bond, he brought a unique combination of vitality, presence and seduction to the role that we hope he will also bring to the L’Oréal Men Expert line. Pierce embodies to perfection the Men Expert philosophy: “the future of your skin is in your hands”.
Suave One, L’Oréal!
Affirmations For A Gorgeous Life:
Inside of me there is an endless supply of love. The more I affirm the abundance of love and positivity within me and generously share it with others, the more I have. I take loving care of my body, groom myself and feed my spirit at every opportunity. I am radiantly beautiful as is the world around me.
Water Therapy.
Just a gentle reminder to say don’t forget about the power of a shower (I’m a poet and I didn’t even know it). Silly rhymes aside, when all else fails… go the warm shower. I only post this as some days it’s a lot harder to kick it into to gear than other days and not much else seems helpful. This I can absolutely appreciate and relate to. For days and times like these: Go The Shower. You can even drip a few drops of soothing essential oils like Neroli, Petitgrain, Ylang Ylang, Rose, and Lavender or any others that you fancy along the far side of the shower, out of the direct spray of the water, and allow the heat of the shower to give these therapeutic oils wings. Before long, you are sure to feel better than human again. Ooh, and don’t forget these times (as with all times really) especially call for the obligatory luxe shower gel and post shower fragranced moisturizer to nourish also. Mmmm. Water therapy… there’s nothing like it!
Eggscellent!
-No, I’m not from New Zealand. But I did want to let you know that a couple of eggs used on your tresses can dramatically and most excellently boost the condition of your hair. What’s better is that all you need to do is use the yolks as a hair mask after shampoo and conditioner to add mega condition to dry hair. Egg whites used as a hair mask is a primo degreaser and smoothes oily hair fabulously. The hardest or rather fiddliest bit about using raw eggs is the separating of the yolk from the white to suit your particular hair concern. Leave the egg masks to sit on your hair for an hour or so, longer if you can, and rinse clean before styling. No need to point out that you’d be rinsing the egg mask out with tepid water right? But then again, I can’t say I’ve ever tried omelet as a styling product. Who knows? There might just be something to it.
You’ll Be Sweet!
I have just learned how to make the “sweetest” hair spray at home. What’s even better about this “good enough to eat” hair spray is it’s a 2 ingredient wonder that will provide you with a gentle hold. All you need to make this beauty is a spray bottle, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 4 tablespoons of hot water. Dissolve the sugar in the hot water, transfer to spray bottle, shake well and spritz on as desired. Too easy!
NB. I can vouch for this gorgeous little homemade hairspray’s effectiveness. However, I can’t say with 100% certainty that the ants won’t adore this hairspray as much, if not more than you. Eek! Only kidding!
