Just Too Cool.

L’Occitane has recently released 3 trés cool additions to its Verbena Harvest range and all with L’Occitane’s prized organic verbena extract. L’Occitane is proud to introduce you to: Cooling Powdered Foot Gel, Cooling Mousse For Tired Legs, and Cooling Deodorant Stick. This luxe trio is sure to keep you in great step in the warmer months and beyond.

Cooling Powdered Foot Gel With its amazingly novel and appreciated formulation aside, the organic verbena extract and invigorating, yet not-too-minty mint essential oil are able to transform a steamy, uncomfortable pedal predicament into a cool, refreshing, purified, and sensational situation for the soles. Cooling Powdered Foot Gel also contains antimicrobial sage essential oil and absorbent tapioca powder. What Beauty Marked! particularly loves about this all-star line-up of ingredients in this considerate formulation is that it not only manages to sort out your feet, but leaves them aptly treated without the greasy finish. Your feet are left revitalized and feeling silky.

Cooling Mousse For Tired Legs This lightweight mousse increases circulation and eases the tired sensation of weary legs. The mousse transforms into an icy cool liquid upon application, which delivers the perfect amount of menthol, organic verbena extract, and cyprus essential oil to perk-up your pins.

Cooling Deodorant Stick Seeing that your legs and feet are now sorted, why not go for pole position after making a pit stop with L’Occitane’s fast drying, mint and sage essential oil enriched, and alcohol, aluminum salt-free stick deodorant? Cooling Deodorant Stick is infused with the delicate and long-lasting perfume of organic verbena, which leaves us well placed to confidently glide through the day. We love that!

L’Occitane Verbena Harvest is available from all L’Occitane boutiques nationwide and is…just too cool!

Let There Be No Mistaking…

Now when Beauty Marked! recommends to “Go the Bold” lip, this is exactly what we mean (as photographed). This arrestingly beautiful and ultra bold lip, courtesy of M.A.C. for Temperly SS08, is just what we are talking about! The trend this spring/summer season is all about picking only one of your many best features and totally showing that one bit of gorgeousness off.

“A bright lip defines the tendency to just identify one element in the makeup this season- it’s all about paring the face back to just one feature. For a switch in attitude from last season, the new bright lip is more attitudinal than luxurious. I’m really into setting a bright lip against a sheeny skin which makes it feel fresh, sporty, and modern.” -Charlotte Tilbury

We are loving the Loud Mouth…without a doubt!

What About These?

Hi BM!

What do you reckon about eyelash curlers? Are they really all that necessary? Looking forward to reading your thoughts. Thanks.

eyelashcurler.jpg

Oddly enough, I can not seem to find my eyelash curler for love nor money at the moment. I suspect it might have something to do with the ram-raid my 20 month old daughter did on my cosmetics wardrobe a week ago. Hmmm. On initial inspection, post ram-raid, I thought the damage was limited to only few cream blushes, an eyeshadow brush, and a couple of gel eyeliners….but upon the real rude awakening, which came a few days later, when attending to a full face (mine), I could not find my beloved Shu Curler that had been, on the quiet, both faithfully and capably called to service darn near daily. Gasp! So I was left to improvise and trust me, while the finger pressure on mascaraed lashes for about 30 seconds might be the go on a dessert island when you are forced to go without, but when you’re not, the old finger ain’t a patch on an eyelash curler. In its terribly missed absence, I now realize that my eyelash curler is a bit of an unsung hero, in fact. So to make a short story longer…yes, I do rather think they are necessary and work quite a ways at expertly opening the eye while giving you a more alluring and curvaceous look to your lashes and overall makeup look, absolutely.

Now, I’m off to find my long lost stellar beauty and if I can’t, I’m calling in the troops to round up another. *sings woefully* Oh where, Oh where has my eyelash curler gone? Oh where, Oh where can she be?…

Shedding A Bit Of Light Under The Matter.

bmspotlight.jpg

Beauty Marked! very often gets emails inquiring about the dusky shadows seen on a great many underarms of our gorgeous readers. Most emails are asking about what causes this darkening and how can one get rid of it? Since BM! can’t ever pass up an opportunity to assist where we can, we thought we’d just shed a bit of light under the old arm if we could.

A lot of the darkening seen in the underarm area is due to friction. This friction is more than likely being caused by excess rubbing due to skin-on-skin contact and or shaving. It’s worth mentioning too, that good old-fashioned genetics can also play a part in darkening the skin there as well. The good news is that you may be able to lighten the area by regular under arm exfoliation. Both mechanical (scrubs and loofahs) and chemical exfoliation (AHAs and LAs) should not only lighten the area overtime, but will assist with any ingrowns should you traditionally fall prey to them. Waxing is generally the hair removal method of choice if you are bothered by dusky underarms. I suspect it has more to do with the hair lying just under the skin left by razoring, as shaving only removes the surface parts of the hair, while leaving the deeper, more pigmented follicles behind. Think of the darkening as a 5 o’clock shadow of the underarm area. Waxing, when done well, removes the follicles and any hair hanging out just below the surface eliminating the appearance of shading and fast re-growth…for a much longer period of time that is.

So, for those of you who are bothered by the darkening often seen in the underarm area, have a go at regular exfoliating and perhaps waxing, as your hair removal of choice, to brighten up your underarms. You should see a vast improvement within a few weeks with bit of luck and a calculated plan of approach. Not bad, ay?

Thanks for your wonderful enquiries, ladies, and do know that it is always our Beauty Marked! pleasure to assist.

Undercover Construction…

Since we all know that a bit of light hearted goss never goes astray, I just thought I’d give you the heads up regarding a bit of the big changes going on behind the scenes with Beauty Marked!. The Beauty Marked! Team has been working hard to bring you a new and improved and uber tjuzed up Beauty Marked! Site. The Get Even More Gorgeous With Beauty Marked! Blog and the Beauty Marked! Online Beauty Magazine will be merged and loads of crazy cool features will be added. Fingers crossed this bigger than Ben-Hur project should be finished by April 08.

Without giving too much away there will be additional extras like online beauty seminars to further enhance the ongoing beauty and grooming seminars that Beauty Marked! leads around the country. There will be greater search-ability of the Site for more effective use of the wealth of information contained across the Site and subscriber only areas just for starters. Thank heavens much of the drilling, sawing, and hammering will go on offline, so not too much should be disrupted with the existing Beauty Marked! resources, which is great, well…until we go live that is. Wish us luck that the work continues to go smoothly and that there won’t be any big breaks in your Beauty Marked! reading pleasure. It’s all so very exciting! Gosh, you have no idea how hard it is to not let this great big beautiful cat out of the bag. So, until then, my lovelies, keep shinning brightly and know it won’t be too long before all is radiantly revealed. *doing the silly-crazy-little-kid-excited dance*
